The Isolation Project: COVID and You.

During the coronavirus pandemic a lot of people have experienced an array of emotions including loneliness and isolation. Consequently, many people have found it difficult to deal with the resulting strains on their mental health. Partnering with DCMS and the Local Connections Fund, Access has produced an audio programme on this subject to try and help people. The programme will address a number of the common themes that people are facing including expert input from experienced counsellor, Mary Figgis.

To guide the programme content, we wanted to find out, first hand, exactly the type of difficulties people are facing. Being based in Stoke-on-Trent, we focused on people living in and around this area, and asked them about what they’ve been experiencing through an on line-survey.

The survey is now closed but the programme is now available below. You can listen on line or download it for free. Click on the menu at the right of the player (three dots) for download options.

We’re also producing copies on CD and sending them, free of charge, to people living in North Staffordshire. To order a copy of the programme or to contribute further please email liz@accessradio.biz

If you need support in the North Staffordshire area a freephone helpline is now available. Call 01782 234233 to access the Mental Helpline 24 Hours a Day, 7 Days a week. Please visit corona19.vast.org.uk/helpline for more details.
