This Easter sees the start of a new specialist music programme on Access, the Standout Show. Many people will associate the Christian Faith with traditional music such as choral or classical, so it comes as a surprise to many that the biggest part of this genre is Contemporary Christian Music. Christian pop, rock, urban and alternative music makes up a huge part of the national music scene in the states and is growing in popularity in the UK too.
So each week, on Access, Jess Cook and Dave Piper will be presenting the cream of Christian music from around the world in the Standout Show. Each show will feature a contemporary classic in Anthem of the Week, a section for more chilled out music in The Mix and a Hip-Hop and Soul section, The Urban Drop. Each show will also feature a Headline Act, featuring 3 songs back to back from a top Christian music artist.
The show will air Fridays to Mondays at 11am and, fittingly, makes it’s debut this Easter weekend with the first show airing later this morning. To whet your appetite here’s the full playlist from this weeks show.
