1986 provides the year for this week’s One Hit Wonder and features the work of Stan Ridgway. Usually there is a bit of a story about how certain songs ended up as One Hit Wonders, such as a novelty track or a TV theme, but on this occasion, it really is just a case unrepeated success, at least in terms of chart entries anyway. Whilst Stan Ridgway, continued a successful career in providing film scores, he never matched the chart success of this somewhat bizarre song about the “Big Marine called Camouflage”.
