LMC’s collaboration (sort of) with U2 is our example of unrepeated success in this week’s One Hit Wonder. Their 2004 hit Take Me To The Clouds Above features a sample from U2’s With Or Without You and a line from a Whitney Houston song How Will I Know. However, contrary to many people’s misremembered chart history, Whitney herself is not on the track with her vocal role being filled in by British singer Rachel McFarlane. This unlikely combination made it to number one in the UK spending 15 weeks on the chart. However, despite remaining a force in the dance music scene, LMC didn’t repeat their chart success. Another collaboration with Rachel McFarlane made it as high as 30 in the UK charts, but that was pretty much it!
